Getting Older

Don’t tell me I’m getting older,

You won’t want to start this war,

There’s a heavier weight on my shoulders.

The air is getting colder,

But we’ve been here before,

Don’t tell me I’m getting older.

You have built this boulder,

You put up the door,

There’s a heavier weight on my shoulders.

We can’t let the fire smolder,

Or let the coffee pour,

Don’t tell me I’m getting older.

I wish I was the beholder,

But we can’t always wish for more,

There’s a heavier weight on my shoulders.

They won’t ever mold her,

She’ll be free to soar.

Don’t tell me I’m getting older.

There’s a heavier weight on my shoulders.
