Snowflakes

Specks of white come falling

Falling down to Earth

I hear my mother calling

I step onto the hearth

The snowflakes melt like butter

Water pools by my feet

The fire sparks like glitter

Waving to my heart’s beat

The sky outside is covered

Covered with six-pointed stars

My hand outside it hovered

Filling up the jars

The snowflakes cut like knives

They scratch and scrape the glass

My skin, it swells with hives

A thousand cuts of wrath.
