A Court of Thorns and Roses- Sarah J. Maas

Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Thorns and Roses follows the story of Feyre, a human huntress who is forced to enter the world of faeries as retribution for killing one. It is an engaging read that delves into Feyre’s struggles with feelings of love and hatred for faeries, as she grapples with her own mortality and explores themes of freedom and loss. Overall, Feyre’s journey as she transitions from seeing faeries as enemies and wanting to kill them to falling in love with a faerie and being willing to sacrifice herself for him makes A Court of Thorns and Roses a compelling and charming read.

Opening Line: “The forest had become a labyrinth of snow and ice.”

Favorite Line: “The breeze, the scent of wildflowers hit me, and despite the hole in my chest, the stain on my soul, I couldn’t stop the smile that spread as we mounted a steep hill.”

Why I Like It: The worldbuilding really pulls you into the setting and characters of the narrative.
