Not all books can guarantee that they’ll change your life but that’s what makes Atomic Habits one of my favorites. In this informational and instructional novel, James Clear walks the reader through the mindset and methods necessary to make incremental changes that, over time, will accumulate to drastic improvements, supported by real life awe-inspiring examples. Clear’s clarity of thought and digestible form of writing made this book a genuine joy to read and increasingly felt like a conversation. In fact, I thought “James Clear” was a pen name (apparently that’s his real name). Returning to the novel, the beauty of this book is I can recommend it to anyone: all you need is a few minutes a day and habits waiting to be broken.
Opening Line: “On the final day of my sophomore year of high school, I was hit in the face with a baseball bat.”
Favorite Line: “Habits are the compound interest of self-improvement.”
Why I Like It: I loved this book because I felt like I was improving myself as I read it, and, in reality, I was when I went and applied what I learned.
