Remembering

Baby face, soft embrace
Autumn leaves blown in your face
A smile repeated a thousand times;
Tired, somber, happy crying

Meet in harsh spring ice
Still in the air
Left in October, tattered twigs
In your hair

A scene not new but now a rare sight
Laughing couple now in a park
Once separate now entwined

Once one now apart
Silence echoes a solemn trot
Walking down the worn in path
Of a place which now he’s forgot

The memory lives on in your grief stricken mind
The world will live on, no it’s not kind
