Beneath the walls of seldom somber
And rows of thickly knitted woods
Through the clearing so very narrow
One will lie asleep if ever one could
The depths of darkness and seamless shadows
Where God knows the world won’t go
Where light won’t hit but the furthest point above
Like lightning striking the wedding day dove
Come from afar whispers through the wind
And waving branches like skeletal arms
With warning shingles and ancient charms
That are just too soft to sound the alarms
Come voices that bring neither day or night
And turn the world with no such might
Will not try to bring down the light
…but oh, it is such a wonderful sight
