The Forest
As the night grew colder her shivers began to shake far more than solely her. With her heart in her hand, her hair in a tie, she set foot on this path of adventure where she knew she would die. An eternal rest that forgave her sins just darkened the even darker spot she held within. Someone cherishable, someone kind who had loved her in a past life would find her here. They would track her down, their soles tied tightly together, laying under the tree where they had first met. Flashbacks of them dancing in their white nightwear, grasping their hands together for dear life. How saccerine it was to look back at what could have been more than a singular memory. Now to sit here and stare into the body of someone who had started their journey into this forest with no recollection of coming out the other end. Alone. Where she felt she belonged most so she let it be that way. Stuck in a forever time capsule she layed. She shivered, her lips still purple. He looked at her and touched her purple lips with his hands that were ice and fell next to her, because even though she might’ve not known she wasn’t supposed to lay alone, he did and made that decision for her. So there they laid hand and hand on the forest floor, nightgowns in all but this time dancing as shadows instead of light.
