Devil’s Quill recently reached out to Joshua Gordon to discuss Ridge Drama Club’s upcoming fall production of Noises Off.
I am Joshua Gordon. I am extremely excited to be in the upcoming production of Noises Off. I think it is a hilarious comedy play, and we are already doing so well in rehearsals. I can tell that this play will be an incredible production. I play Selsdon Mowbray who is an old, mostly deaf actor with alcoholism who plays the burglar in the play (Nothing On) within the play (Noises Off). I, as a senior, have been in Ridge Drama Club for the last four years, and I have done every show I have been able to. Noises Off will be my seventh mainstage production in high school. I was Clarence Oddbody in It’s a Wonderful Life, Pouncival in Cats, Oliver Rivers in Puffs, Bruce Bogtrotter in Matilda, Voice four/Reverend Peters/Station Policeman in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Wiesel in Newsies, and of course Selsdon Mowbray/The Burglar in Noises Off. I feel so fortunate to go to Ridge High School, and to be able to participate in our theater program. We won best musical in New Jersey two years in a row! That has never been done before. I am so thankful to Mrs. Harvey and Mr. Lynch for directing such fabulous shows, and for casting me in them during my time at Ridge.
