Ridge International Dance Ensemble

The Ridge International Dance Ensemble (RIDE) has finished learning a new dance! During October, the group focused on learning the choreography from “I Can’t Stop Me”, a song by the K-pop girl group Twice. The original choreography was created by Jonte Moaning, Kiel Tutin, and Leejung Lee. They have worked on other dances for Twice to perform. The dance features many fast and complex moves, with several formations as well. Last month, a Bollywood dance was taught, to the song “Girls Like to Swing” by Sunidhi Chauhan. This song is from the movie Dil Dhadakne Do. The dance shown in the movie has 1920s flapper-esque influences.

RIDE is a club where you can learn the traditional and more modern dances from different cultures and countries around the world. In the past, some of the dances taught have been Polynesian, Tarantella, Tibetan, and more. A showcase is held in the spring in which the group performs all of the dances that were learned throughout the year.
