Ridge Media Center was honored to host a visit and lecture from professional author Laura E. Goodin.

Laura E. Goodin is a writer of science fiction, fantasy, old-fashioned adventure, humor, plays, libretti, poetry, and academic research. Her work has been published and/or performed on three continents, and plenty more projects are in the works. (www.lauraegoodin.com)

Mrs. Goodin’s discussion with student’s of Mr. Pernice’s Creative Writing, elective course included a review of the elements of narrative, the importance of critique and peer review, and the significance of correct grammar in a writer’s work. Mrs. Goodin, a wonderfully personable presenter, candidly shared her difficult journey to having her first work published and heartedly encouraged students to preserver in their  own writing and ambitions to become published.
