Presentation Anxiety

Her heart was racing
As she walked
the
walk
of shame
Up to the board to present.
Her teeth chatter not because of the cold
But because of the pressure around her.

Her surroundings were

blur.
And all she saw,
Other than 25 pairs of eyes,
Was her note cards.
With bulleted notes she knew by heart
And topics she had rehearsed
Had
escaped
her mind.

She stood there,
With a blank stare
And a blank mind.
As the notecards continued to shake,
Until she said her first word.
